The original douglas fir flooring was uncovered and refinished to match the new custom cabinets. The wall cabinets have custom made leaded glass designed to match windows in other parts of the house. Art nouveau accent tiles adorn the backsplash, which is made from reclaimed crackle finish subway tiles. Antique door and drawer hardware and a stunning three-pulley light fixture anchor this kitchen to its past, while new stainless steel appliances give it a modern touch while maintaining a traditional style.

The Architects & Heroes light fixture is the focal point of the kitchen, but it is a bit spendy.  You may consider browsing the Kichler light fixtures at www.kichlersuperstore.com for other, more reasonably priced fixtures that will still look great in a bungalow.  Granite countertops from a company such as Sensa highlight the traditional design.
